Job Title : Compliance Officer

Reports To : Section Head of Legal, risk and compliance
Job Responsibility (Including but not limited to the following)
  • Develop strategies to minimize non compliance issues, monitor compliance with legal rules and regulations, interface with internal departments when required to ensure that the organisation complies with regulations and minimises risks.
  • Prepare and report quarterly the compliance report to management, Board and shareholders.
  • Update the managements any related issues whenever required.
  • Ensure that all information requests from the regulator are provided on a timely basis, and stay abreast of regulatory auditors from time to time.
  • Coordinate all licensing compliance matters with respect to the development and implementation of the Company's statutary obligations.
  • Ensure compliance to the Company’s license requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with the technical standards applicable to the distribution buisnes utility.
  • Identify key communication requirements through discussions with the CEO and the Manager – Regulatory & Compliance, review all internal and external communications to be circulated as a quality check develop relationships with key media agencies to ensure that the right information is communicated when required to key stakeholders.
  • Develop relationships with key government authorities, bodies and agencies; obtain critical information for government bids, speedy clearance of licenses and permits etc to ensure that the company is able to obtain critical concessions, licenses and contracts from the government.
  • Adhere to company`s health, safety, environment and security policies at all time and immediately report violation of these policies to MEDC`s Health and Safety Representative to ensure HSE standards are met and adhere to.

Qualifications & Required Skills

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, (Finance / Accounting) or equivalent.

 Professional Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience.


Role Purpose

To Control and manage the corporate compliance function of the company by reviewing and monitoring adherence to policies, processes and systems pertaining to legal, corporate communication; building and maintaining relationships with key government authorities, to ensure that the company is compliant with legal requirements, maintains good relations with government agencies and communicates effectively with stakeholders
